NHTC’s mission is to exceed customer expectations, improve the quality of life in the communities we serve and fulfill evolving communications needs with advanced technology at the best value possible backed by exceptional customer service.

Our Story

New Hope Telephone Cooperative has been serving our communities’ communications needs for 70 years. We proudly offer Broadband Internet, advanced Wi-Fi, and telephone services via a state-of-the-art fiber optic network. We also offer peace of mind and home automation with NHTC Security Solutions and convenient mobile medical alert with MobiPro.

The story of progress in the New Hope area (as well as the founding of NHTC) is the story of the Lions Club, a group of dedicated residents whose efforts throughout the 1950s and 60s shaped the future of this region.

For reasons of safety, economic growth and convenience, community members wanted phone service. The Lions Club became a driving force locally in community development. After unsuccessful attempts to bring the big investor-owned telephone company to New Hope, Lions Club members set out to make it happen for themselves.

Creating a cooperative wasn’t easy. Each founding member pledged money up front and then provided continued support in order for the new cooperative to get started. Each individual took a risk – but it was a risk worth taking because they knew they needed a modern communications network.

Today, broadband is the dominant communications need for our area, and New Hope Telephone has evolved to bring that connection to the residents of our community.

NHTC is proud to be a Gig-Capable Certified Provider. Our customers can enjoy Broadband Internet speeds over 100 times faster than those currently available in many US households.

Our purpose is to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve. We’ve built a state-of-the-art fiber optic network to serve our communities’ communications needs now and in the future. We’re here because we carry the legacy of our founders and our members.

NHTC has received several certifications including: ‘Gig-Capable Provider’ certification from NTCA – The Rural Broadband Association as well as ‘All-Fiber Service Provider’ from the Fiber Broadband Association. These certifications exemplify NHTC’s ongoing efforts to deliver the most technologically-advanced communications services to our communities.

It is our intent to treat all people – our employees, our customers, and the general public – with respect, dignity, and understanding.

Our Employees…

Our Cooperative’s operations have always been conducted on a conservative and profitable basis. This makes our Cooperative strong – both in financial condition and competitive position. A sound and profitable organization can offer maximum security to its loyal employees – good pay, benefits, and working conditions. The loyalty and outstanding performance of our employees have been tremendous factors in the success of our Cooperative. We consider our employees to be New Hope Telephone Cooperative’s greatest resource.

Our Customers…

We realize that our success is determined by our ability to meet our customers’ needs. We will place the satisfaction of our customers above every other business consideration. We believe that integrity is the cornerstone of all our business relationships. We will fulfill our commitments even when it may not be cost effective to do so. We believe that courteous, prompt service carried out in a professional manner is the key element to customer satisfaction; therefore, we plan all activities to enable us to better serve our customers.
