08/28/2020 – New Channels Added to Lineup

NHTC has added the following channels on our Grand View and Ultra View packages: RFD HD on channel 1063; Cowboy Channel SD and HD on channels 89 and 1089; NewsMax TV SD and HD on channels 90 and 1090. While we may be forced to remove some networks to try and combat excessive increases, NHTC is willing to add networks with better terms to replace those more expensive options such as the case with these networks.

08/27/2020 – NHTC Email Spam Information

If you have noticed an influx of spam email since we have transitioned to our new email platform, we are pleased to let you know that you have the ability to personalize your spam filter within your settings. Just click on the 9 squares located next to your email address and choose ‘Settings‘ from the drop down menu. You will then select ‘Mail‘ and scroll down until you see ‘Manage Spam‘ where you will click the Edit button. A slider bar will appear. Here you will slide the bar to the left to increase your spam filter. The lower the number, the stronger your spam filter. However, please note that if you move your slider too far to the left, you may find that you are not receiving some of your legitimate emails. We recommend starting at 35 – 45 and going lower as needed. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact a customer service representative at 256-723-4211.

06/25/2020 – NHTC to Remove Stingray Music Channels

You spoke, and we listened – effective July 31, NHTC will no longer offer the Stingray Music channels on our TV lineup. NHTC sent a survey to TV subscribers earlier this year and we received an overwhelming response to remove these channels due to low viewership. Steady content cost increases are forcing NHTC to evaluate which channels to keep and which channels to remove as contracts expire. NHTC understands our customers’ frustration at the cost of TV service and we pledge to do what we can to try and combat these exorbitant rate increases, which includes removing programming from our lineup.

Content costs will continue to increase as contracts come up for renewal. NHTC will take those opportunities to decide whether contracts will be renewed or cancelled. This means we will be removing certain networks to try and alleviate the burden to our customers. We understand that this means that we may be removing some channels that our customers want, but unfortunately we have no choice in the fight to try and get content costs, and ultimately the cost our customers must pay, under control.

Our hope is that these content providers will realize that not only are they hurting small companies like NHTC, but also their viewers – our customers – in the process and cease excessive fee increases.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your continued support.

03/16/2020 – NHTC’s Keep Americans Connected Pledge

NHTC is proud to sign on to the “Keep Americans Connected Pledge” at the request of FCC Chairman Pai.  The pledge is as follows:

Given the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on American society, NHTC pledges for the next 60 days to:

(1) not terminate service to any residential or small business customers because of their inability to pay their bills due to the disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic;

(2) waive any late fees that any residential or small business customers incur because of their economic circumstances related to the coronavirus pandemic; and

(3) open its Wi-Fi hotspots to any American who needs them. NHTC currently does not have public Wi-Fi hotspots, but is evaluating our options to place some within our communities as quickly as possible.

*This in no way puts a stay on fees associated with non-payment.

**Customers who know they will endure a hardship associated with actions taken to curtail the spread of the COVID-19 should contact NHTC as soon as possible (256-723-4211) to discuss their accounts.
