In order to make the changes necessary for your computer or router to work on DHCP (Dynamic Host Control Protocol) you will need to make some changes to your PC, Laptop, or Router. They must be set to “obtain an IP address automatically”. The instructions for making this change can be found below. You will find the instructions separated by Operating System for PC or Laptop changes and by Router brand for Router changes.

If you have a stand alone PC or Laptop, that is, only one computer connected to your DSL modem, make the change in the PC or Laptop following the instructions listed for your Operating System. Upon following these instructions you will lose your Internet connection. Simply call our Business office at 256-723-4219 and one of our technicians will complete the process within our office restoring your Internet connection.

If you have a router, that is, you have more than one device, and/or a wireless connection the change will need to be made in the router following the instructions listed for your Router brand. Upon following these instructions you will lose your Internet connection. Simply call our Business office at 256-723-4219 and one of our technicians will complete the process within our office restoring your Internet connection.
